Who we are
Locally owned and community invested! The current ownership group purchased Friesen Insurance back in 2000. Located in the Southland Mall, Friesen Insurance is the broker of choice for your insurance needs. We offer the best hours in Southern Manitoba, open Monday to Saturday, including weekday evenings. We speak English, Low German, and High German, and look forward to serving you!
What we do
It takes a special kind of person to put the needs of others ahead of your own – but that’s exactly what makes the people here special. The feeling we get from helping someone when they need advice or find themselves in a jam is what gets us excited. Insurance will never define us – choosing our attitude and making a commitment to others does.

Our Team
Merlin started with Friesen Insurance in 1995 and became a partner in 2000. He was born and raised in Winkler. He enjoys spending time with his family and hobbies include playing sports, photography, and camping. He has been on several community and church boards and loves giving back to his community.
Brad has been with Friesen Insurance since 1997, and a partner since 2000. He lives in Winkler and enjoys serving the community through the Winkler Fire Department. He enjoys spending time camping with his family.
Doug started with Friesen Insurance in 1995 and became a partner in 2000. He obtained his Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation in 1993. He enjoys fishing and camping.
Corey has been with Friesen’s since 2006 and became a partner in 2021. He currently holds his Level 2 license. Corey lives in Winkler. He spends his leisure time golfing, officiating hockey, and travelling in winter.
James has been with Friesen Insurance since 2006 and became a partner in 2021. He obtained his CAIB designation in 2009. James resides in Winkler with his wife and daughters. His hobbies include camping and following sports.
Tina has been with Friesen Insurance since 2015. She currently holds her level 3 licence. She enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Dorothea joined Friesen Insurance in 2015; she currently holds her level 1 licence. She enjoys going camping and spending time with family and friends.
Alyssa has worked at Friesen’s since 2015. She currently holds a level 3 license. Alyssa enjoys farming with her husband as well as being youth leaders at their church.
Anna started at Friesen’s in 2015 and holds her level 3 license. She enjoys watching her kids play sports.
Dayna started at Friesen’s in 2016 and obtained her CAIB designation in 2021. When not working, she enjoys reading, photography and spending time with family and friends.
Carilee has been with Friesen Insurance since 2005. She earned her CAIB designation in 2010. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Sonia started with Friesen Insurance in 2021, and currently holds her level 2 license. She enjoys spending time outside camping, hiking, snowboarding or taking her dog on adventures.
Veronika started at Friesen Insurance in March of 2020 and holds a level 1 license. She enjoys being outdoors during the summer and spending time with family and friends.
Laura joined Friesen Insurance in 2021. She currently holds a level 1 license. In her free time, she enjoys reading and making memories with friends and family.
Chase has been employed at Friesen Insurance since March of 2023. When he’s not at work, he spends most of his time working out at the gym or writing.
Elena started with Friesen Insurance in 2023. Her hobbies include reading, drawing, and anything food related, be it cooking or baking.
Ronny joined Friesen Insurance in June 2024 and holds a level 1 insurance license. Originally from Paraguay, he is fluent in both English and Low German, ready to assist you with all of your insurance needs. In his free time, Ronny enjoys practicing photography and cherishing moments with family and friends.
Elicia joined Friesen Insurance in 2024 and has her level 1 license. She enjoys supporting her community through the Winkler Fire Department and spending time with family and friends.
